Someone at the US MLP Fair was nice enough to give us an update for those who couldnt go…
http://www.mlparena.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=122742.html

Guys. I am crying again. MORE RETRO PONIES ;_; i dont think hasbro has ever done anything so right before!

1) Hasbro is currently working on designs for Spring 2009. They want to take the MLP line in a whole new direction in ‘09.

2) Sea Ponies are a “probably.” Boy Ponies are a “maybe.” Newborn Ponies are also a “maybe” (but this “maybe” was said with a knowing smile). The Hasbro rep said, “You wouldn’t believe how much time we spend talking about this!” She says the topic comes up at least 2-3 times a week in the marketing department!

3) There will be a new Pony Project in ‘08. This time, there will be a custom contest, with Hasbro offering blank white ponies to anyone who wants to enter, and the best 25 (to coincide with MLP’s 25th anniversary) will be featured in the gallery showing, alongside the celebrity artist ponies!!!

4) Hasbro is seriously considering selling blank ponies for customization on their website!!

5) There will be more retro ponies in the fall: Rainbow Ponies this time! You should have heard the applause!! There may also be more retro ponies in the future! Along with this, they are looking into releasing a sort of “best of MLP,” with the top 25 ponies of all time, or something like that.

6) The Hasbro rep says the reason for the blank shelves in the MLP section of many stores is NOT that MLP is dying out, but that they’ve had SUCH a successful year with the MLP line that they products sold out much faster than anticipated!

7) Custom ponies are not considered a threat by Hasbro, since they do not compete with anything currently offered by Hasbro directly.

8 ) Hasbro still hopes to make a feature film at some point, but is also working on more DVD movies, which will also be released in theatres.

9) The MLP line will still stay focused on the 2-6 year age range. The seven ponies who will be the bulk of the line in ‘08 were developed so little girls can form bonds with special ponies, and know their individual stories and personalities. Hasbro may go back to featuring stories on the backcards.

10) There are currently no plans to bring back the Points Program.

EDIT…MORE!!!
–There will be another set of Halloween ponies this year. No Halloween Ponyville figures, however.

–They confirmed that YES, some Hasbro employees DO read the MLP fan forums, like the Arena!!

will be fully uploaded soon :ninja:
