I saw a ribbon magnet thingie on a car the other day that really made me go… wha? “Christmas starts with CHRIST” I am a brat. I know and completely understand how Christmas got its routes (in the pagan tradition, etc), and I understand it is a holy day for worshipers. I believe it is a beautiful thing. But in my worldly wisdom, i really want to point out that Christmas doesnt start with Christ, it starts with Chris. Granted that is a name taken from Christ, but still xD Let me be silly?

Still. I love Christmas. I really cant help it. I am just a bit dismayed at how commercialized this season has become. I guess I am just dis hearted with all of the PI threads on “wanting computers and laptops and MP3 players, etc” And heres little old Chibi, content with looking forward to home made pajamas. Its the little things that count with me. I like spoiling everyone around me, but i am happy with hand made crafts. I seriously look forward to hand made pajamas every single year, as much as my mom doesnt believe me. I love them. I dont want a new computer for christmas, that is just ridiculous, and i really cant understand why they even ask for them. Computers are *expensive*. Hell the only time my mom spent more than $50 on a gift was when it was for the whole family, and these kids are wanting it all for themselves. oO;; Gone are the days, apparently, where one shared the N64 and enjoyed the holidays. I remember kicking carries ass soundly the first time we played with the N64, and diddy kong racing xD

Considering the fact that I gave up caring 1/2 way through the semester (life issues got in the way of concentration), I am pretty damn proud of at least passing everything.

Since MLP came back ‘big time’ (people flocking to forums to openly proclaim their love to the plastic pony gods), sometime around the beginning of G-3 (there were communities earlier, but they didnt start booming until the third generation), people have been whining to Hasbro to do something for the collectors.

The mentality of “We were with you through it all! You should be thanking us!”

Hasbro released 2 collectors grade Comics Convention ponies.  These ponies are certified to be practically flaw free (think: 99.9% for the C95 and 99% for the C90) .  What do people do?  Bitch that Hasbro is even doing this.

Hasbro went out of their way to get these ponies certified by the CDA.  The authority in certifying dolls and toys.  They paid, i am assuming a good chunk of change for this.  The ponies that they are selling with the CDA grading on them are of almost the highest standards.  There are 3 levels to grading, and each grading level has 3 tiers, so technically 9 levels total.  The ponies being sold by Hasbro  are guaranteed to be the second and third tier of the top level.  These are gold standard Mint and Near Mint quality ponies (gold level means the flaws are nearly invisible to the naked eye).

People think nothing of forking over $50-$100 for a Mimic with some minor flaws.  So WHY is it so ebil and different to give Hasbro $80 for a guaranteed near flawless pony? Oh wait, its because the pony is still available through places such as Evil-bay.  Those ponies dont carry the certification.  And wait.  If i bide my time and spend countless hours hunting in thrift stores and garage/boot sales, or perusing Evil-Bay for mislabeled auctions… i can potentially find a Mimic!  For a fraction of the price too!  WHAT THE HELL IS THE DIFFERENCE?!  Thats what i want to know.

must not let people get to me.  Must walk away before i blow a gasket.  Hasbro is taking steps to standardize  how we classify ponies for sale, so to speak (”shes in good condition!” *ponys hair has been mauled by a scissor happy kid-let*)

 I never knew about the CDA before, and now that i know about them, i am seriously contemplating getting some of my ponies certified.  I know i have a few that are of mint/near mint quality and grade.  At least bronze level, in my opinion.  I just want to research them a bit first.  I have a MOC G-1 TAF Sweet Tooth that is practically flawless except a few very minor nicks on the edges of her card.  And my G-3 TAF Pony Project is still MIP.  I want to research first though, cause I dont know how they handle ponies ON cards still (comics con Super Pony came in a baggie).  CDA’s website shows Barbie’s in boxes, in the certified acrylic shells. So… yeah, research would need to be made.

 In other news.  I am hungry.  And want to play Pokemon xD  But am bored.
